Best Tony-Winner for Best Musical
Since 1949, the American Theatre Wing has bestowed its Best Musical award to more than 50 Broadway productions. While the COVID-19 pandemic left us in suspense over which show would take the 2020 Best Musical Tony, the Great Pop Culture Debate wanted to look back on the winners from 1949 to 2019 and determine: What is the Best "Best Musical" Tony Winner of all time? Shows discussed: Hamilton, Cabaret, Hairspray, Fiddler on the Roof, Les Miserables, Company, A Chorus Line, The Lion King, Rent, Avenue Q, The Sound of Music, In the Heights, Hadestown, Phantom of the Opera, Book of Mormon, Sweeney Todd.
Host Eric Rezsnyak and panelists Curtis Creekmore, Joelle Boedecker, and Kevin Dillon strike up the band and cue up the chorus as they debate the best Broadway musicals that have won Best Musical.
